Yoga Centers Me 3.27.26

There are many reasons why yoga centers me. One of the most important is that it gives me an inner resiliency, so I am not reacting negatively when walking my life path.

Yoga centers me with the connection of the mind, the breath, and the movements…  giving me an inner peace that I cannot find elsewhere. It focuses my energy on the positive aspects of my life, keeping the negative thoughts at bay. This gives me the resiliency required to move forward in my life with focused confidence.

Almost all of my discoveries and understandings about myself come during yoga sessions. Relaxing the mind and letting the thoughts flow during yoga…. instead of forcing them….. will work wonders for you as well.

Mantra: the theme this month is beginnings. “Even the greatest was once a beginner. Don’t be afraid to take the first step”. – Muhammad Ali

Hot or not: Yoga tech- There are new trends in the yoga technology arena. These trends help individuals tailor their workout to individual needs and goals, while avoiding injuries. Some of these are:

-          AI – analyses of your movement via phone cameras for correct posture

-          Smart mats – these have embedded sensors to provide instant feedback on your body’s position. This is another way to digitally instruct your posture.

-          Wearable sensors – these use motion sensors attached to clothing to analyze form and posture while giving correcting clues.

-          Headbands – can now track brain activity for meditation focus.

-          Smartwatches -helps yoga practitioners avoid overexertion and understand their body’s response to certain poses.

Pose of the week:

Warrior 3 - also known as Virabhadrasana III. This is a more advanced yoga posture that uses balance to strengthen the legs, core and back. It also improves stability and focus. The body is balanced in this pose on one leg with other leg, torso and arms extended parallel to the floor to create a “T” shape.
